ABOUT

Stuart Hippach

Mushroom guide and food innovator

After a career helping multinational organisations extend their global reach the realisation came that this may not be what the planet needs so a complete U-turn in life has led to a focus on embracing the local and unused.

It is estimated that between 95% - 99% of wild mushrooms are left to rot in the woods. Arguably Sweden’s greatest food waste. So much lost deliciousness

Our mission is to bring more wild mushrooms onto the plate through education and product innovation

Foraging for wild mushrooms requires a great deal of knowledge and the amazing tastes of these woodland treasures are often lost.

It is estimated that only about 1% of Swedens edible wild mushrooms are picked and the rest rot in the woods and fields. This means that with a wastage factor of almost 99% this could well be Sweden´s greatest food waste.

Plockat! has as its mission to make these delicious jewels available to all by a combination of education and food inovation. A selection of wild and cultivated mushroom products are continouously being developed for everything from the simplest meals to high-end fine-dining experiences.

These umami-filled taste explosions are low in carbohydrates, rich in antioxidants and contain important vitamins such as D and B and many minerals such as iron.
